What is SIM swapping?
A scam where a criminal tricks your phone company into moving your number to their SIM, so they receive your calls and security codes.
With your number, an attacker receives your SMS two-factor codes and can reset accounts. Warning signs: your phone suddenly loses signal for no reason, and password-reset emails start arriving. Reduce the risk by using authenticator apps instead of SMS codes, adding a PIN to your mobile account, and calling your carrier immediately if your service drops unexpectedly.
